Bank Accounts
Having a reliable and established bank account is crucial to everyone in life.
To having a reliable checking account, to having a strong savings account with a high APY (Annual percentage yield), it is important to utilize what you have, and take advantage of everything your bank offers.

Amarillo National Bank

Amarillo National Bank is used by most of us in Amarillo Texas. For most of us, we use the Student checking account that gives us $10 for having good grades throughout school (Honestly a ton of money starting in middle school)
Although the Student Checking is only for students 10-17, it almost mimics the Basic Free Checking account offered. Some highlights of the account are
Free ANB and Allpoint ATMs
We have all seen the Amarillo National Bank ATMs around Amarillo and even on the outskirts of town in Lubbock, but what if you needed cash and weren't near Amarillo? Allpoint is a company that partners with multiple banks that offers free ATMs access across the United States. This allows Tens of thousands of ATMs where you can withdraw or deposit cash in around the globe.
Understanding Amarillo National Bank
Zelle
Zelle isn't used often by most high-school or college students, although it SHOULD be. Zelle is built into most banks, and was made to compete directly with Cashapp and Venmo. The difference between Zelle and Cash app, is the fact that Zelle was made by banks to keep money in the banking system. Zelle is a protocol used to send money between bank accounts, very much like Cashapp and Venmo, but is instant and without fees. This allows you to avoid instant fees like Cashapp and Venmo, while also being able to quickly receive money from people.
No minimum balance
Simply means you won't rack in fees if your account was under a certain amount.

Depending on what you're doing (Working, in College, in high-school) will greatly determine what account will be best for you.

Highschool Student
A student checking account is still the best checking account you can have, especially when you report your 6 weeks report cards. If you make A's and B's for all of high-school and report all your report cards, that's $1440 dollars!
The Cash Back Checking is an amazing account, (Even if you aren't a student). To get $15 dollars a month, all you have to do is make 15 purchases during the month, and have at least one direct deposit (getting your paycheck added to your bank).
That's $180 dollars a year if you spend money, and work at least once a month.

Savings accounts
I always recommend adding all money you currently aren't spending into a savings account. The longer you save it, the more money it makes for you.
For example, if you had 10,000 dollars in an ANB savings account, the bank would've added $120 dollars in your account in one year. That is because the first $10,000 grow at 1.20%, and every dollar after that grows at 1.35%
Although ANB doesn't have the highest savings rate, if you already have an account, and aren't moving away, it is a solid bank with lots of features and account options.
